The RASA project:

The project aims to contribute to food security of Burkina Faso’s population and in particular of the marginal urban areas (suburbs of Ouagadougou) ensuring the availability, accessibility and quality of food to the most vulnerable people, while supporting the small local agricultural production and promoting the development of family farming. The project envisages the establishment, by groups of disadvantaged women of the neighbourhood (60 women) and unemployed youth (40 young), a Purchase Network for Food Safety (RASA) that will manage a Storage Centre for basic food, which will be stored in favourable season and sold at low prices in times of scarcity. In addition, 50 families in extreme poverty situation will be equipped with the resources to start a family garden, which will be able to provide some of the basic foods.
